At Modern Massage Works, each massage session is tailored to the client’s specific needs and preferences in a relaxing, quiet atmosphere. There is no mark-up cost for the use of different massage techniques, which may include:

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is primarily a muscle relaxation, stress reduction massage.  It is geared toward releasing tension in muscle tissue and reducing the systemic effects of stress.

Therapeutic Massage
Refers to the use of varying massage techniques in the treatment of orthopedic and medical conditions from such causes as athletic endeavors, injuries, postural imbalances and chronic conditions.

Myofascial Massage
A type of massage focusing on fascial tissue.  It incorporates gentle pressure and traction to specific areas of the body to remove fascial restrictions, thus facilitating tissue elongation and realignment.  It removes the straightjacket-like effect on the body of restricted fascia.

Hot Stone Massage
Heated basalt stones are used in the performance of a relaxing and therapeutic massage. The penetrating heat from the stones more quickly facilitates the “melting” of tight muscles and trigger points, and reduces muscle and tissue stiffness.
